William and Mary college, in Williiamsburg Virginia, invited Adam Werbach to speak as part of their DOT Kickoff. The school has taken Sustainability personally and engaged faculty and students to pick a DOT. Adam Werbach and the audience were equally inspired by the actions already taken (7oo+ DOTS on Campus) and by the journey ahead. Adam challenged the school to lead the way to a billion.

June 22nd marked the first day Team One employees began participating in Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). What’s CSA you say? It’s the relationship between a local farm and those that eat the food produced. Most consumers not only are unaware of where their food comes from, but who is growing it and how it is produced. A CSA seeks to end our disconnection from the farmer and the land that sustains us. Joining a CSA helps to continue the ancient practices of land stewardship, while at the same time supporting local farmers.
Every Wednesday, the South Central Farmer’s Cooperative rolls up to our loading dock and delivers local produce boxes for 20 employees. We rush down to the mailroom to see what’s inside our boxes (always a surprise), and many of us have been cooking and sharing both food and recipes throughout the week. Not only are we supporting a local farming initiative, we’re supporting each other and growing our own community of sharing and fun around a sustainable practice.
