William and Mary college, in Williiamsburg Virginia, invited Adam Werbach to speak as part of their DOT Kickoff. The school has taken Sustainability personally and engaged faculty and students to pick a DOT. Adam Werbach and the audience were equally inspired by the actions already taken (7oo+ DOTS on Campus) and by the journey ahead. Adam challenged the school to lead the way to a billion.
William and Mary is the first university to launch DOT on Campus

This video is a collection of things that I have seen in the past few weeks. The pictures stop after three minutes, but the song continues. The song is called سميَ by محمد عبدو.
My name is Tik Root. I am a student at Middlebury College in VT and I am here with Saatchi & Saatchi in Riyadh to research the meaning that the word “sustainability” has in this part of the world. I wanted to come to Saudi Arabia in order to put to the test the numerous stereotypes and pre conceived notions that are floating around the US about the KSA. So far, the journey has been immensely fascinating.
To my excitement, the Saudi’s are doing some really COOL things to prepare them selves for a sustainable future. For example, they are trying to utilize their vast silicone resources for the production of solar cells, and they are trying to make it cheaper to convert crude oil into hydrogen (which is apparently possible). Overall the prospects for a sustainable Saudi future are much brighter than I ever imagined, but there is still a long way to go.
Another goal for the trip is to introduce Saatchi’s True Blue movement to the Riyadh office. We are already on our way to the goal of 100% DOT registration, even before having the first official True Blue discussion!!
Check back for updates, or e-mail me in the meantime.
I would like to share with you a work we have been doing for a while at F/Nazca S&S (Brazil)
It’s a organization called “50 graus” (50 degrees - celsius) we created to discuss global warning through urban guerrillas we promote in São Paulo. Check it out at http://www.50graus.org/

Cape Town Saatchi & Saatchi’s interpretation of DOT (Do one thing) - the options are endless. We have placed this DOT in reception and it reminds us daily how we can make a difference but just doing one thing differently.

Enter Strategy for Sustainability: A Business Manifesto, published by Harvard Business Press, the definitive work on sustainable business strategy by the most authoritative voice in the conversation.
Strategy for Sustainability calls for the relentless pursuit of long-term sustainability—and that doesn’t mean “green.” Strategy has always been about making profits first, and that can’t change. Werbach proposes a new strategy framework that is keenly attuned to the world around us, flexible enough to respond to rapid change, and focused on the long view.

Saatchi & Saatchi Cape Town, launches “Let them into your pants” campaign. With cold, wet and windy weather threatening. The True Blue Team initiated a denim collection to be donated to those less fortunate.
As the jeans were collected they were strung along ‘blue’ washing lines, with blue pegs in reception. Visitors to the agency were curious and we have had offers of other suppliers offering to add their contributions to our cause.
